iaminter.net — Montreal, QC
I've spent the last decade building data infrastructure, quantitative models, and internal tools for companies that needed real answers — not another dashboard subscription. Before iaminter.net, I led analytics and data engineering across e-commerce, manufacturing, and SaaS at companies including SharkNinja, Structube, Techo-Bloc, Lazr, and McGill University. I'm based in Montreal and work in both English and French.
Why This Exists
The SaaS model works until it doesn't. When you have thirty people who need access to data, $30 per seat becomes $30,000 per year. And at the end of it, you own nothing. The dashboards stop the moment you stop paying. The logic is trapped in a proprietary query language that no one on your team understands. If you try to leave, you're starting from scratch.
Custom software built in open technologies — SQL, TypeScript, Python — changes the economics completely. You pay once and own the result. The software qualifies as an intangible asset on your balance sheet and typically qualifies for SR&ED tax credits, reducing the effective cost by 20–35%. Delivered in weeks, not months.
iaminter.net exists to make that alternative accessible — and to do the work that most BI shops genuinely can't: predictive models, demand forecasting, pricing optimization, survival analysis. The hard problems that require statistical rigor, not just a charting library.
How I Work
Every engagement starts with the business question, not the technology. Most BI projects fail because they start with a tool selection. I start with: what decisions do you need to make, and what data would make those decisions obvious?
From there I design the data model, build the pipeline, and deliver software that actually answers the question — not a generic template with your logo on it. Everything is written in standard technologies that any competent developer can read, extend, and maintain. No proprietary connectors. No vendor-specific query languages. No lock-in by design.
- Speed without shortcuts. A consulting firm quoted the same project 18 months and $200k. We delivered it in 4 weeks for $12,500. The difference is not cutting corners — it's not carrying a team of twelve optimized for billable hours.
- Open stack, always. SQL, TypeScript, Python, React. Technologies documented publicly, understood widely, and not owned by any vendor. Your data model is in plain SQL. Your business logic is in version-controlled source code.
- You own the result. The code deploys to your cloud account, lives in your repository, and keeps running whether you ever call me again or not.
- SR&ED-ready by default. Qualifying engagements include project narratives, technical decision logs, and time-allocation breakdowns that map directly to what your accountant needs for a claim.
Background
Over the past decade I've led data and analytics projects across three industries:
- E-commerce & retail. Demand forecasting, pricing optimization, customer lifetime value models, marketing attribution platforms, and cross-department dashboards at scale. Clients include SharkNinja and Structube.
- Manufacturing. Supply chain analytics, production planning dashboards, and inventory optimization for operations teams that need real-time visibility into throughput and margins. Clients include Techo-Bloc.
- SaaS & research. Product analytics, cohort analysis, churn prediction, and revenue modeling for software companies and research institutions. Clients include Lazr and McGill University.
